AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF ROADWAY DEPARTURE SAFETY ACTION PLAN FUNDING FROM THE NEW YORK STATE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION REGARDING DESIGN AND INSTALLATION OF GUIDERAILS ON VARIOUS COUNTY ROADS

WHEREAS, The Commissioner of the Department of Public Works has requested authorization to accept Roadway Departure Safety Action Plan Funding from the New York State Department of Transportation regarding the design and installation of guiderails in the amount of $1,463,000 for a term commencing August 1, 2026 and ending December 31, 2030, and
WHEREAS, The Commissioner has indicated that these funds will be used to design and install guiderails on various County roads, and
WHEREAS, The additional $73,150, which represents the County’s required 5% share, will be funded through the Department of Public Works Highway and Trail Improvement Project Capital Plan, now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature that the Department of Public Works is authorized to accept Roadway Departure Safety Action Plan Funding from the New York State Department of Transportation regarding the design and installation of guiderails in the amount of $1,463,000 for a term commencing August 1, 2026 and ending December 31, 2030, and, be it further
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the County Legislature is directed to forward certified copies of this resolution to the appropriate County Officials.
