AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 132 FOR 2025 REGARDING THE 2025-2026 CARES UP SUSTAINABILITY GRANT AND AMENDING THE 2026 SHERIFF'S OFFICE BUDGET

WHEREAS, By Resolution No. 132 for 2025, this Honorable Body authorized an agreement with the with the New York State Office of Mental Health’s Suicide Prevention Center and the Research Foundation for Mental Hygiene regarding the 2025-2026 Cares Up Sustainability Grant in an amount of $40,000 for a term commencing April 1, 2025 and ending March 31, 2027, and
WHEREAS, The Sheriff has been notified of additional funding in the amount of $2,000 for a new total amount of $42,000, and
WHEREAS, The Sheriff has indicated that the additional funds will be used by the Sheriff’s Office to support health and wellness activities, and
WHEREAS, The Sheriff has also indicated that a budget amendment is necessary to incorporate the aforementioned funding into the 2026 Sheriff’s Office Budget, now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature that Resolution No. 132 for 2025 is hereby amended in the amount of $2,000 for a new total amount of $42,000, and, be it further
RESOLVED, That the 2026 Sheriff’s Office Budget is amended as follows:
and, be it further
RESOLVED, That the County Attorney is authorized to approve said amendments as to form and content, and, be it further
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the County Legislature is directed to forward certified copies of this resolution to the appropriate County Officials.
