AUTHORIZING THE CONVEYANCE OF REAL PROPERTY LOCATED AT 13 BINGHAMTON STREET (TAX MAP NO. 87.14-1-6) IN THE CITY OF ALBANY

By Audit and Finance Committee:
WHEREAS, By Resolution No. 149 for 2025, this Honorable Body authorized the purchase of three parcels of real property located at 877 S Pearl Street (Tax Map No. 87.9-3-2), 13 Binghamton Street (Tax Map No. 87.10-2-3.1), and 13 Binghamton Street (Tax Map No. 87.14-1-6) in the City of Albany from Albany LLC to develop a regional fire training facility, in a final total amount of $999,000, and
WHEREAS, Momentum Environmental has reached out to Albany County’s real estate advisor, Cresa Associates, regarding an offer to purchase this parcel for $1,200,000, and
WHEREAS, The County Executive’s Office has identified 13 Binghamton Street (Tax Map No. 87.14-1-6) as unnecessary for the development and construction of the proposed training center, and has requested authorization to convey the parcel to Momentum Environmental for $1,200,000, and
WHEREAS, By Resolution No. 363 for 2026, the aforementioned parcel of real property located at 13 Binghamton Street (Tax Map No. 87.14-1-6) in the City of Albany was declared “no longer necessary for public use” pursuant to County Law § 215 and § 65-3 of the Albany County Code and is therefore eligible to be sold, now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature that the County Executive is authorized to execute on behalf of the County any documents necessary to parcel of real property located at 13 Binghamton Street (Tax Map No. 87.14-1-6) in the City of Albany, to Momentum Environmental for the amount of $1,200,000, and, be it further
RESOLVED, That Momentum Environmental shall be responsible for all closing costs at the time of closing, and, be it further
RESOLVED, That the County Attorney is authorized to approve said conveyance as to form and content, and, be it further
