AUTHORIZING THE INSTALLATION OF FENCING AT 260 sOUTH PEARL STREET IN the city of ALBANY AND AMENDING THE 2022 ALBANY COUNTY BUDGET

WHEREAS, In 2019, this Honorable Body authorized the relocation of the Albany County Board of Elections to 260 South Pearl Street in the City of Albany to provide considerable savings for the Albany County tax payer while providing the Board of Elections with sufficient space in which to conduct its operations, and

WHEREAS, In 2020 a Legislative Task Force was created to work with the Board of Elections to enhance the property to better serve the needs of the Board and the voters of Albany County, and

WHEREAS, Among the suggestions borne out of the Task Force, was a determination that the property would be better served if the area was surrounded by a fence, and

WHEREAS, The Department of General Services, working with the Office of the County Executive, the Board of Elections and the Legislative Task Force, solicited bids for the construction of a fence around the property, and Siena Fence Co., Inc., was recommended as the most responsive and responsible bidder with the lowest bid at a cost of $45,770. Now, therefore be it

RESOLVED, That the County Executive is hereby authorized to enter into an agreement with Siena Fence Co., Inc., for the construction of a fence at 260 South Pearl Street in the City of Albany, for an amount not to exceed $50,347 for a term commencing January 1, 2023 and ending December 31, 2023, and, be it further,

 

RESOLVED, That the 2022 Albany County Budget is amended as follows:

 

Decrease Appropriation Account A1990.4 by $50,347 by decreasing Line Item A1990 4 4999 Miscellaneous Contractual Expense $50,347

 

Increase Appropriation Account A1450.4 by $50,347 by increasing Line Item A1450 4 4046 Fees For Services by $50,347.  And, be it further,

 

RESOLVED, That the County Attorney is authorized to approve said

agreement as to form and content, and, be it further

 

RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the County Legislature is directed to forward

certified copies of this resolution to the appropriate County Officials.
