DESCRIPTION OF REQUEST: (state briefly why legislative action is requested)
The Crime Victim and Sexual Violence Center (CVSVC) requests authorization to enter into a contract with the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) to accept $17,410.06 in grant funding through the 2026 Sexual Assault Services Formula Program (SASP), for the contract period of July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2027. The funding will support shift stipends for after-hours on-call coverage of CVSVC’s 24/7 sexual assault crisis hotline. On-call staff supervise volunteers, provide crisis intervention, emotional support, and information and referrals to hotline callers, and respond to hospitals to provide forensic examination accompaniment. CVSVC will apply the grant funding to on-call shift stipends for the period of January through June 2027. The shift stipends are already included in CVSVC’s budget; therefore, no budget amendment is required.
