AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT WITH THE NEW YORK STATE UNIFIED COURT SYSTEM REGARDING SECURITY SERVICES FOR THE ALBANY FAMILY, SUPREME AND COUNTY COURTS

WHEREAS, The Sheriff has requested a five-year agreement with the New York State Unified Court System regarding court security for the Albany Family, Supreme, and County Courts for a term commencing April 1, 2019 and ending March 31, 2024, and
WHEREAS, The Sheriff has also requested authorization regarding the first year of the aforementioned agreement with the New York Unified Court System in an amount not to exceed $2,079,305 for a term commencing April 1, 2019 and ending on March 31, 2020, and
WHEREAS, The Sheriff has evaluated the proposed services to be rendered for the first year of the contract and has determined that the reimbursement amount for said agreement in the amount of $2,079,305 represents the cost of security services provided by the Albany County Sheriff’s Department, now, therefore be it
RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature that the County Executive is authorized to enter into a five year agreement with the New York State Unified Court System, Castleton-on-Hudson, NY 12033 for the provision of security services for the Albany Family, Supreme, and County Courts for a term commencing April 1, 2019 and ending March 31, 2024, and, be it further,
RESOLVED, That the County Executive is authorized to enter into an agreement regarding the first year of the aforementioned contract with the New York State Unified Court System, Castleton-on-Hudson, NY 12033 for the provision of security services for the Albany Family, Supreme, and County Courts in an amount not to exceed $2,079,305 for a term commencing April 1, 2019 and ending March 31, 2020, and, be it further
RESOLVED, That the County Attorney is authorized to review said agreements as to form and content, and, be it further
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the County Legislature is directed to forward certified copies of this resolution to the appropriate County Officials.
