DESCRIPTION OF REQUEST: (state briefly why legislative action is requested)

The Department of Mental Health requests permission to accept funding in the amount of $15,915 from the NYS Office of Mental Health’s COVID Relief Community Mental Health Jail Diversion grant program. ACDMH will use this funding to support discharge planning at the ACCF to facilitate the reentry individuals with serious and persistent mental illness back into the community. The goal is to reduce recidivism and address criminogenic needs through relationship building and improved connection to community services and supports post-release. This is 100% State-Funded.
