AUTHORIZING AN INTERDEPARTMENTAL AGREEMENT WITH ALBANY COUNTY CRIME VICTIM AND SEXUAL VIOLENCE CENTER REGARDING A TWENTY-FOUR HOUR RESPONSE TEAM

WHEREAS, By Resolution No. 20 for 2022, this Honorable Body authorized an agreement with the New York State Office of Children and Family Services in order to accept funding in the amount of $43,350 for a term commencing January 1, 2022 and ending December 31, 2022, and amended the 2022 Department for Children, Youth and Families Budget, and
WHEREAS, The Commissioner of the Department for Children, Youth and Families has requested authorization to enter into an interdepartmental agreement with Albany County Crime Victims and Sexual Violence Center (ACCVSVC) regarding a twenty-four hour response team in connection with the aforementioned funding and the Safe Harbor initiative in the amount of $3,000 for a term commencing January 1, 2022 and ending December 31, 2022, and
WHEREAS, The ACCVSVC has an established twenty-four hour response team and a proven record and mechanism for responsiveness to victims of crimes, including sexual violence, and would serve as the lead for agencies such as law enforcement, hospitals, and community-based organizations to reach out to when a referral for trafficking services is warranted, now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature that the County Executive is authorized to enter into an interdepartmental agreement with ACCVSVC regarding a twenty-four hour response team in connection with the aforementioned funding and the Safe Harbor initiative in the amount of $3,000 for a term commencing January 1, 2022 and ending December 31, 2022, and, be it further
RESOLVED, That the County Attorney is authorized to approve said agreement as to form and content, and, be it further
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the County Legislature is directed to forward certified copies of this resolution to the appropriate County Officials.
