DESCRIPTION OF REQUEST: (state briefly why legislative action is requested)

New York State has awarded grant funding to Albany County, for Statewide Targeted Reductions in Intimate Partner Violence (STRIVE). Partners include Equinox Domestic Violence Services, Albany County District Attorney Office, Albany City Police Department, and the Probation Department.  All partners will work together in a collaborate manor to reduce the risk of lethality or serious harm to victims of intimate partner violence and their families. The Probation Department will designate a Probation Officer to attend meetings and training with the goal of improving the ability of all partners to better monitor offenders while providing outreach services to victims and families.
