DESCRIPTION OF REQUEST: (state briefly why legislative action is requested)

CVSVC respectfully requests authorization to enter into a contract with, and accept grant funding from, the New York State Office of Victim Services (OVS) for the contract period of October 1, 2026, through September 30, 2028. This award represents federal Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) funding administered by the New York State Office of Victim Services. The total award is $1,310,152.20, consisting of $655,076.10 per year for two years.

Grant funding will support the salaries and fringe benefits of personnel providing direct services to victims of crime, including clinical therapy, court advocacy, case management, victim assistance hotline services, and emergency room accompaniment.

No budget amendment is required, as the anticipated grant revenue and corresponding expenditures have already been incorporated into the 2026 adopted and 2027 proposed budgets.
