AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT WITH INSIGHT PUBLIC SECTOR, INC. REGARDING A COUNTYWIDE BROADBAND FEASIBILITY AND IMPLEMENTATION STUDY AND AMENDING THE 2021 ALBANY COUNTY BUDGET

 

                     Introduced:  12/6/21

                     By Public Works Committee, Messrs. Bruschi, Cleary, O’Brien, Peter, Reinhardt, Smith, Burgdorf, Perlee and Miller:

 

 WHEREAS, The County Executive has requested authorization to enter into an agreement with Insight Public Sector, Inc. as the sole bidder regarding a Countywide Broadband Feasibility and Implementation Study in an amount not to exceed $175,000 for a term commencing December 10, 2021 and ending December 9, 2022, and

 

                     WHEREAS, The County Executive through the County Purchasing Agent issued a Request For Proposals for “Assess the Feasibility and Implementation of the Albany Connect Broadband Initiative” and one bid was received, and

 

                     WHEREAS, The County Executive has indicated that the proposed study will provide guidance for the planning and development of a broadband strategy to determine service availability, accessibility, affordability and service gaps throughout Albany County,

 

WHEREAS, The County Executive has also indicated that a budget amendment is necessary to appropriate said funds into the 2021 Albany County Budget, now, therefore, be it

 

RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature that the County Executive is authorized to enter into an agreement with Insight Public Sector, Inc., Herndon, VA 20171 as the sole bidder regarding a Countywide Broadband Feasibility and Implementation Study in an amount not to exceed $175,000 for a term commencing December 10, 2021 and ending December 9, 2022, and, be it further

 

RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature, that the 2021 Albany County Budget is amended as follows:

 

Create and Increase Revenue Account A4962 Federal Stimulus by $175,000

 

Increase Appropriation Account A8020.4 by $175,000 by increasing line item A8020 4 4046 Fees for Services by $175,000

 

 

                     RESOLVED, That the County Attorney is authorized to approve said agreement as to form and content, and, be it further

 

RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the County Legislature is directed to forward certified copies of this resolution to the appropriate County Officials.
