DESCRIPTION OF REQUEST: (state briefly why legislative action is requested)
The Department of Management & Budget requests to reallocate unspent balances on American Rescue Plan Act funded awards for several external sub-recipients. Capital Region BOCES, The Capital Region Workforce Development Board, and Hudson Valley Community College have each agreed to reallocate a portion of their ARPA grant awards because their projects are complete or because they don’t have the administrative capacity to spend it in full before the grant’s deadline. The reallocated funds will be distributed to Big Brothers Big Sisters, Park Playhouse, and the Pride Center of the Capital Region. Each of these recipients had spent their initial ARPA awards quickly and compliantly, and contacted the County about a need for additional funding. This change comes at no cost to the County.
