RESOLUTION NO. 122

 

AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT WITH THE NEW YORK STATE OFFICE OF MENTAL HEALTH REGARDING THE EXPANSION OF CERTIFIED AND CREDENTIALED PEER CAPACITY AND AMENDING THE 2022 DEPARTMENT OF MENTAL HEALTH BUDGET

                     By Health Committee:

 

          WHEREAS, The Director of the Department of Mental Health has requested authorization to enter into an agreement with the New York State Department of Mental Health regarding the expansion of Certified and Credentialed Peer Capacity within the Albany County Department of Mental Health in an amount not to exceed $16,000 for a term commencing January 1, 2022 and ending December 31, 2022, and

 

                     WHEREAS, The Director indicated that the involvement of individuals with lived experience in the recovery of individuals with behavioral health challenges can be a significant factor in assuring the success in overcoming challenges, and

                     

                     WHEREAS, The Director has also requested an amendment to the 2022 Department of Mental Health Budget to incorporate said funding, now, therefore, be it

 

                     RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature that the County Executive is authorized to enter into an agreement with the New York State Department of Mental Health regarding the expansion of Certified and Credentialed Peer Capacity within the Albany County Department of Mental Health in an amount not to exceed $16,000 for a term commencing January 1, 2022 and ending December 31, 2022, and, be it further

 

RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature that the 2022 Department of Mental Health Budget is amended as follows:

 

Increase Revenue Account A3490 Mental Health by $16,000

 

Increase Appropriation Account A4310.1 by $12,000 by increasing Line Item A4310 1 9923 Retention Grant Stipend by $12,000

 

Increase Appropriation Account A4310.4 by $4,000 by increasing Line Item A4310 4 4039 Conference/Training/Tuition by $4,000

 

and, be it further

 

RESOLVED, That the County Attorney is authorized to approve said agreement as to form and content, and, be it further

 

RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the County Legislature is directed to forward certified copies of this resolution to the appropriate County Officials.
