DESCRIPTION OF REQUEST: (state briefly why legislative action is requested)
Authorization to enter into an agreement with Legends Global for the operation and management of the Civic Center (MVP Arena). Legends Global Arena (previously Spectator Management Group (SMG)) is the current operator of the Civic Center. Their original contract was Authorized under Resolution 323 of 2019 for a five-year term with a one-year renewal, set to expire 12/31/2025. Resolution 142 of 2022 extended the term of the 2019 agreement on the grounds of COVID, which is now set to expire 12/31/2027.
Legends Global has requested a renewal with all terms remaining the same, but would also include the addition of taking over food and beverage services for the Civic Center and agreeing to build a new VIP room for the Civic Center. Food and beverage services will be assumed when the contract with the current provider expires. This contract will have a term of six years beginning on 1/1/2028 with a six-year mutual renewal option.
