DESCRIPTION OF REQUEST: (state briefly why legislative action is requested)
The Crime Victim and Sexual Violence Center (CVSVC) is requesting authorization to enter into a contract with, and accept grant funding from, the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) through the Sexual Assault Crisis and Prevention Program. The grant award is $198,618 for the contract period of October 1, 2026, through September 30, 2027.
DCJS provides this funding to support New York State Department of Health (DOH)-approved rape crisis providers, including CVSVC. The funding will support CVSVC’s community outreach and interpersonal violence prevention activities, including awareness and prevention trainings on sexual assault and related topics for K-12 schools, community organizations, and human services agencies. Grant funds will be allocated toward established staff salaries and fringe benefits to offset the County share of these costs.
