DESCRIPTION OF REQUEST: (state briefly why legislative action is requested)
The Department of Mental Health will award $125,000 in Opioid Settlement Funding to Healthy Capital District (HDC) for the purpose of partnering with Albany County to produce 6-8 trainings for Albany County behavioral health providers. The grantee will collaborate with the Albany County Department of Mental Health to develop a list of potential training topics; survey community providers to confirm the topics; identify curriculums and trainers; contract with the trainers; manage registrations and CEUs; set up catering; and provide the training materials, onsite support and post-event surveys. HCD was selected for funding through a competitive grant application process and will implement this project over the next two (2) years.
