AUTHORIZING AGREEMENTS REGARDING THE HEALTHY FAMILIES HOME VISITING PROGRAM AND AMENDING THE 2025 DEPARTMENT FOR CHILDREN, YOUTH AND FAMILIES BUDGET

By Social Services Committee:

 

WHEREAS, The Commissioner of the Department for Children, Youth and Families has requested authorization to enter into an agreement with the New York State Office of Children and Family Services regarding the Healthy Families Home Visiting Program in an amount not to exceed $8,305,265 for a term commencing July 1, 2025 and ending June 30, 2030, and

 

WHEREAS, The Commissioner has also requested authorization to enter into an agreement with Parsons Child and Family Center regarding the Healthy Families Home Visiting Program in an amount not to exceed $734,423 for a term commencing July 1, 2025 and ending June 30, 2026, and

 

WHEREAS, The Healthy Families Home Visiting Program will provide intensive home visits to pregnant women and new parents residing in designated areas, targeting those who require assistance in enhancing parenting skills and accessing family support, and

 

WHEREAS, The Commissioner has indicated that a budget amendment is necessary to incorporate $116,429 of the aforementioned funding as it is an increase over the previously budgeted amount, now, therefore, be it

 

RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature that the County Executive is authorized to enter into an agreement with the New York State Office of Children and Family Services regarding the Healthy Families Home Visiting Program in an amount not to exceed $8,305,265 for a term commencing July 1, 2025 and ending June 30, 2026, and, be it further

 

RESOLVED, That the County Executive is also authorized to enter into agreement with Parsons Child and Family Center, Albany, NY 12208 regarding the Healthy Families Home Visiting Program in an amount not to exceed $734,423 for a term commencing July 1, 2025 and ending June 30, 2026, and, be it further

 

RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature that the 2025 Department for Children, Youth and Families Budget is amended as follows:

 

 

 

 

 

RESOLVED, That the County Attorney is authorized to approve said agreements as to form and content, and, be it further

 

RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the County Legislature is directed to forward certified copies of this resolution to the appropriate County Officials.
