The Department of Public Works respectfully requests the Legislature’s approval to accept SFY 2026/2027 Consolidated Local Street and Highway Improvement Program (CHIPS) funding. The award total, including rollover funds, is as follows:
CHIPS $6,592,650.76
PAVE NY $ 861,876.67
EWR (Extreme Winter Recovery) $ 767,048.49
POP (Pave our Potholes) $ 548,578.55
TOTAL $8,770,154.47
Upon acceptance of these funds, the Department requests the Legislature’s approval to amend our 2026 budget by increasing Bridge and Road Repair Line, D95112.4.4075 by $2,770,154.47. This adjustment represents the difference between the budgeted revenue amount of $6,000,000.00, and the total award amount of $8,770,154.47.
