AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT WITH THE NEW YORK STATE DIVISION OF HOMELAND SECURITY AND EMERGENCY SERVICES REGARDING THE STATE LAW ENFORCEMENT TERRORISM PREVENTION GRANT AND AMENDING THE 2022 SHERIFF’S OFFICE BUDGET

By Public Safety Committee:

 

WHEREAS, The Albany County Executive’s Office, on behalf of the Sheriff's Office, has requested authorization to enter into a three-year agreement with the New York State Division of  Homeland Security and Emergency Services in the amount of $120,000 regarding the 2022 State Law Enforcement Terrorism Prevention Program for the term commencing September 1, 2022 and ending August 31, 2025, and 

 

WHEREAS, The County Executive indicated that funding for the program would be used for enhancements to law enforcement information and intelligence sharing, including the purchase of license plate readers and digital print scanners, and

 

                     WHEREAS, The County Executive has also requested a budget amendment in order to appropriate aforesaid funding to enhance the Office’s Homeland Security Program, now, therefore, be it

 

                     RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature that the County Executive is authorized to enter into a three-year agreement with the New York State Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services in an amount of $120,000 regarding the 2022 State Law Enforcement Terrorism Prevention Program for the term commencing September 1, 2022 and ending August 31, 2025, and, be it further 

 

RESOLVED, That the 2022 Sheriff’s Office Budget is hereby amended as follows:

 

                     Increase Revenue Account A4306 Homeland Security by $120,000

 

Increase Appropriation Account A3110.2 by $120,000 by increasing Line Item A3110 2 2750 Security Equipment by $120,000

 

and, be it further

 

RESOLVED, That the County Attorney is authorized to approve said agreement as to form and content, and, be it further

 

                     RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the County Legislature is directed to forward certified copies of this resolution to the appropriate County Officials.
