DESCRIPTION OF REQUEST: (state briefly why legislative action is requested)
The Public Defender’s Office, Alternate Public Defender’s Office, and Assigned Counsel Program request authorization to amend the Second Statewide Expansion of Hurrell-Harring grant contract with the New York State Office of Indigent Legal Services, with a term of April 1, 2024 through March 31, 2027. The amendment increases the total amount of funding from $29,538,230 to $31,310,523.81 to continue work being done under the first Statewide Expansion of Hurrell-Harring grant that commenced April 1, 2018.
