DESCRIPTION OF REQUEST: (state briefly why legislative action is requested)
Approval is requested to renew an agreement with the Altamont Program, Inc. to provide employment and related services for Temporary Assistance (TA) and Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) clients in the amount of $429,700, with an additional $5,000 requested for translation services, as needed.
The Altamont Program will assist recipients in their transition into or return to the workforce, to enhance self-sufficiency. As a key component of client success, the program will fully engage participants in a combination of virtual and in-person activities that lead to employment and achieving financial independence. The program will also provide retention services as of the first day a client enrolls, and will strive to keep individuals engaged in all aspects and at all points in the program.
Through intensive case management, the program will provide orientation of employment requirements, individual assessments/reassessments, pre-employment job readiness/job skills training, including employment preparedness skills, resume preparation, job searching skills, job development/placement, post-employment retention services, work experience development/placement and other countable activities.
In addition to referring employed TA recipients who may benefit from their services, Altamont will collaborate with an Employment Success Coach provider to identify barriers to employment and develop curriculum to address them prior to future employment.
The Altamont Program was selected through a competitive bid for services under RFP #2022-076. The Altamont Program was the sole bidder and this request is for year five (5) of a five-year contract.
