AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT WITH TRAFFIC MARKINGS, INC. REGARDING THE PURCHASE OF A USED STRIPING TRUCK AND AMENDING THE 2023 DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS BUDGET

By Public Works Committee:
WHEREAS, The Commissioner of the Department of Public Works has requested authorization to enter into an agreement with Traffic Markings, Inc. regarding the purchase of a used Striping Truck in the amount of $97,500, and
WHEREAS, The Commissioner, along with the Purchasing Agent, issued a request for bids regarding the Purchase of a Used Striping Truck and one bid was received, and
WHEREAS, The Commissioner and Purchasing Agent have reviewed said bid and recommended awarding the contract to Traffic Markings, Inc. as the sole bidder, and
WHEREAS, The Commissioner has indicated that the Striping Truck will be used to stripe various County roads since the cost to hire a contractor is no longer economical for the County, and
WHEREAS, The Commissioner has also indicated that a budget amendment to the 2023 Department of Public Works Budget in the amount of $97,500 is necessary for the purchase, now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature that the County Executive is authorized to enter into an agreement with Traffic Markings, Inc., Franklin, MA 02038, regarding the purchase of a used Striping Truck in the amount of $97,500, and, be it further
RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature, that the 2023 Department of Public Works Budget is amended as follows:
Decrease Appropriation Account D5020.4 by $97,500 by decreasing line item D5020 4 4004 Road Striping by $97,500
Increase Appropriation Account D5110.2 by $97,500 by increasing line item D5110 2 2080 Specialty Equipment by $97,500
and, be it further
RESOLVED, That the County Attorney is authorized to approve said agreement as to form and content, and, be it further
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the County Legislature is directed to forward certified copies of this resolution to the appropriate County Officials.
