AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT WITH THE NEW YORK STATE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH REGARDING DISEASE INTERVENTION SERVICES AND AMENDING THE 2022 DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH BUDGET

WHEREAS, The Commissioner of the Department of Health has requested authorization to enter into an agreement with the New York State Department of Health regarding the Disease Intervention Services Program in an amount not to exceed $250,000 per year for a total amount of $1,250,000 for a term commencing January 1, 2022 and ending December 31, 2026, and
WHEREAS, The Commissioner indicated that the funding will be used to improve STD Partner Services within Albany County and to ensure persons who are reactive for an STD/HIV and their partners are promptly linked to medical care, HIV testing, additional STD screening, and other essential prevention and support services, and
WHEREAS, The Commissioner has also requested an amendment to the 2022 Department of Health Budget to incorporate $250,000 of said funding, now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature that the County Executive is authorized to enter into an agreement with the New York State Department of Health regarding the Disease Intervention Services Program in an amount not to exceed $250,000 per year for a total amount of $1,250,000 for a term commencing January 1, 2022 and ending December 31, 2026, and, be it further
RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature that the 2022 Department of Health Budget is amended as follows:
Increase Revenue Account A3409 Disease Intervention Services by $250,000
Increase Appropriation Account A4010.2 by $10,000 by increasing Line Item A4010 2 2050 Computer Equipment by $10,000
Increase Appropriation Account A4010.4 by $240,000 by increasing the following line items:
Increase Line Item 4010 4 4020 Office Supplies by $5,000
Increase Line Item 4010 4 4039 Conferences Training Tuition by $2,500
Increase Line Item 4010 4 4046 Fees for Services by $232,500
and, be it further
RESOLVED, That the County Attorney is authorized to approve said agreement as to form and content, and, be it further
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the County Legislature is directed to forward certified copies of this resolution to the appropriate County Officials.
