MAKING A SEQR DETERMINATION AND AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF PARCELS OF REAL PROPERTY IN THE CITY OF ALBANY AND AMENDING THE 2024 ALBANY COUNTY BUDGET

 

                     Introduced: 8/12/24

                     By Audit and Finance Committee and Commisso:

 

                     WHEREAS, The County Executive has requested authorization to purchase the following parcels of real property from the Estate of Salvatore Tarzia in the City of Albany for $375,000 and in satisfaction of all taxes owed:

 

                                                               89 Beaver Street (Tax Map No. 76.42-1-18)

                                                               93 Beaver Street (Tax Map No. 76.42-1-17)

                                                               95 Beaver Street (Tax Map No. 76.42-1-16)

97 Beaver Street (Tax Map No. 76.42-1-15)

 

,and

 

                     WHEREAS, The County Executive has indicated that said purchase will allow for additional parking and communication support space for shows at the MVP Arena, and

 

WHEREAS, This purchase has been designated an Unlisted action pursuant to the State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQRA), and

 

WHEREAS, The County Executive has indicated that a short Environmental Assessment Form has been completed and, after review, it has been recommended that the Legislature determine that the Project will not have a significant adverse impact on the environment, and

 

WHEREAS, The County Executive has indicated that a budget amendment is necessary in order to complete the purchase, now, therefore, be it

 

RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature, that this Honorable Body has considered the recommendation and materials submitted and hereby determines that this purchase will not have a significant adverse impact on the environment pursuant to SEQRA, and, be it further

 

RESOLVED, That the County Executive is hereby authorized to execute on behalf of the County of Albany any and all documents necessary to purchase from the estate of Salvatore Tarzia the following parcels of real property located in the City of Albany for $375,000 and satisfaction of all taxes owed:

 

                                                               89 Beaver Street (Tax Map No. 76.42-1-18)

                                                               93 Beaver Street (Tax Map No. 76.42-1-17)

                                                               95 Beaver Street (Tax Map No. 76.42-1-16)

97 Beaver Street (Tax Map No. 76.42-1-15)

 

and, be it further

 

                     RESOLVED That the 2024 Albany County Budget is hereby amended as follows:

 

 

and, be it further

 

                     RESOLVED, That the County Attorney is authorized to approve said documents as to form and content, and, be it further

 

RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the County Legislature is directed to forward certified copies of this resolution to the appropriate County Officials.
