AUTHORIZING THE SUBMISSION OF A GRANT APPLICATION AND AN AGREEMENT WITH THE NEW YORK STATE BOARD OF ELECTIONS FOR THE NEW YORK STATE ELECTIONS CYBERSECURITY REMEDIATION GRANT PROGRAM AND AMENDING THE 2020 BOARD OF ELECTIONS BUDGET

WHEREAS, The Albany County Commissioners of Election have requested authorization to submit a grant application and enter into an agreement with the New York State Board of Elections for reimbursement funding for the New York State Elections Cybersecurity Remediation Grant Program in an amount not to exceed $145,220, and
WHEREAS, The Commissioners have indicated that the grant funding would cover qualified expenditures made between December 21, 2019 and December 31, 2021 to help the County improve election security by remediating and mitigating risks identified during a prior risk assessment, and
WHEREAS, The Commissioners are also requesting a budget amendment to incorporate said grant funding, now, therefore be it
RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature that the County Executive is authorized to submit a grant application and enter into an agreement with the New York State Board of Elections for reimbursement funding for the New York State Elections Cybersecurity Remediation Grant Program in an amount not to exceed $145,220, and, be it further
RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature that the 2020 Board of Elections budget is amended as follows:
Increase Revenue Account A3342 Cybersecurity Remediation Grant by $145,220
Increase Appropriation Account A1450.2 by $108,720 by increasing Line Item A1450 2 2050 Computer Equipment by $108,720
Increase Appropriation Account A1450.4 by $36,500 by increasing Line Item A1450 4 4046 Fees for Services by $36,500
and, be it further
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the County Legislature is directed to forward certified copies of this resolution to the appropriate County Officials.
