AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT WITH THE NEW YORK STATE OFFICE OF MENTAL HEALTH REGARDING MOBILE CRISIS UNIT FUNDING AND AMENDING THE 2022 DEPARTMENT OF MENTAL HEALTH BUDGET

WHEREAS, The Director of the Department of Mental Health has requested authorization to enter into an agreement with the New York State Office of Mental Health to accept funding for the Mobile Crisis Unit in the amount of $50,000 for the term commencing June 1, 2022 and ending June 30, 2023, and

 

WHEREAS, The Director has indicated the Mobile Crisis Unit seeks to improve a behavioral health crisis by engaging with an individual in crisis, reducing their symptoms, and stabilizing the individual at the individual’s home or any community location while avoiding unnecessary law enforcement involvement, and

 

WHEREAS, The Director has also requested a budget amendment to incorporate this funding into the 2022 Department of Mental Health Budget, now, therefore, be it

 

RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature that the County Executive is authorized to enter into an agreement with the New York State Office of Mental Health to accept funding for the Mobile Crisis Unit in the amount of $50,000 for the term commencing June 1, 2022 and ending June 30, 2023, and, be it further

 

RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature that the 2022 Department of Mental Health Budget is hereby amended as follows:

 

Increase Revenue Account A4490 Mental Health by $50,000

 

Increase Appropriation Account A4310.2 by $35,000 by increasing the following line items:

Increase Line Item A4310 2 2050 Computer Equipment by $30,000

Increase Line Item A4310 2 2100 Communication Equipment by $5,000

 

Increase Appropriation Account A4310.4 by $15,000 by increasing the following line items:

Increase Line Item A4310 4 4038 Travel, Mileage, Freight by $5,000

Increase Line Item A4310 4 4039 Conferences/Training/Tuition by $10,000

 

and, be it further

 

RESOLVED, That the County Attorney is authorized to approve said agreement as to form and content, and, be it further

 

                     RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the County Legislature is directed to forward certified copies of this resolution to the appropriate County Officials.
