DESCRIPTION OF REQUEST: (state briefly why legislative action is requested)
The Division of Information Services is requesting additional funding authorization in the amount of $700,000 for FY2025 to finance the “Core Switch, Telephone Replacement and Data Center” capital project, as presented in the 2026-2030 Capital Plan (Resolution 229 of 2025). Projects include telephone system replacement, data closet switches, server room infrastructure, core network equipment and other related hardware. To date, as authorized by Resolution 282 of 2025, Resolution 156 of 2024, and Resolution 8 of 2023, $1,900,000 in County financing has been approved for this project. Separately, an additional $895,000 in Federal ARPA funds was approved for this capital project. Inclusive of this request, the total County financing made available for the “Core Switch, Telephone Replacement and Data Center” project will be $2,600,000. With federal funding, the capital project not to exceed total is $3,495,000.
