AUTHORIZING AGREEMENTS WITH NEW YORK STATE OFFICE OF CHILDREN AND FAMILY SERVICES AND BRIGHTSIDE UP, INC. REGARDING REGISTRATION SERVICES AND ADMINISTRATIVE COSTS

 

                     Introduced:  10/12/21

                     By Social Services Committee:

 

                     WHEREAS, The New York State Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) has provided 100% State funding for processing of day care registration applications and inspections of registered providers, and

 

                     WHEREAS, The Commissioner of the Department of Social Services has requested authorization to enter into an agreement with OCFS regarding Family Day Care Registration and Inspection Services in an amount of $245,145 for the term commencing January 1, 2022 and ending December 31, 2022, and

 

                     WHEREAS, The Commissioner has also requested authorization to enter into an agreement with Brightside Up, Inc. for the processing of day care registration applications and inspections of registered providers in an amount not to exceed $233,065, for the term commencing January 1, 2022 and ending December 31, 2022, and

WHEREAS, The Commissioner has indicated that through the aforementioned agreement the County will pass through OCFS funding to Brightside Up, Inc. in order to facilitate assistance to families regarding registration, inspection and safety assessments of all day care providers in Albany County who have a relationship with the Department, now, therefore be it

 

RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature that the County Executive is authorized to enter into an agreement with the New York State Office of Children and Family Services to accept funding in an amount of $245,145 for the term commencing January 1, 2022 and ending December 31, 2022, and, be it further

 

RESOLVED, That the County Executive is also authorized to enter into an agreement with Brightside Up, Inc., Menands, NY 12204 for the processing of day care registration applications and inspections of registered providers in an amount not to exceed $233,065, for the term commencing January 1, 2022 and ending December 31, 2022, and, be it further

 

                     RESOLVED, That the County Attorney is authorized to approve said agreements as to form and content, and, be it further

 

                     RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the County Legislature is directed to forward certified copies of this resolution to the appropriate County Officials.
