DESCRIPTION OF REQUEST: (state briefly why legislative action is requested)
The Department of Mental Health requests permission to amend the 2025 Albany County Department of Mental Health (ACDMH) budget and to accept funding in the amount of $19,874 from NYS Office of Mental Health. ACDMH has received the funds for our Mobile Crisis Unit, to provide support, training and maximize billing. This will allow for better care provision and improved efficacy. The Mobile Crisis Unit seeks to improve a behavioral health crisis by engaging with an individual in crisis, reducing their immediate symptoms, and stabilizing this individual. Mobile Crisis teams are dispatched to an individual’s home or any community location where a crisis may be occurring, to provide brief intervention and facilitate access to other crisis/behavioral health services. This is 100% State-Funded.
