DESCRIPTION OF REQUEST: (state briefly why legislative action is requested)
The Department of Mental Health requests permission to provide a one-year no-cost extension to Catholic Charities Care Coordination Services (CCCCS) for their Opioid Settlement Funded Community Grant. This grant is being used to expand and support the continued operation of the Law Enforcement Assisted Diversion (LEAD) program, though the hiring of a Certified Peer Recovery Advocate (CRPA) and by supporting administrative positions whose grant funding is ending. With the County’s approval, CCCCS’ contract will now end on June 30, 2026. No additional funds will be provided, but Catholic Charities will retain access to their remaining $105,000 in OSF Community Grant Funds.
