AUTHORIZING THE RENEWAL OF AN AGREEMENT WITH NEW YORK STATE INDUSTRIES FOR THE DISABLED, INC. REGARDING CUSTODIAL AND JANATORIAL SERVICES FOR THE JUDICIAL CENTER AND FAMILY COURT BUILDINGS

WHEREAS, By Resolution No. 515 for 2022, this Honorable Body authorized an agreement with New York State Industries for the Disabled, Inc. (NYSID) regarding custodial and janitorial services for the County Judicial Center and the Family Court buildings which provided two one-year options for renewal, and
WHEREAS, The Commissioner of the Department of General Services has requested authorization to exercise the first of two one-year renewal options with NYSID, as a preferred provider, regarding custodial and janitorial services for the Judicial Center and Family Court buildings in an amount not to exceed $350,070 for a term commencing January 1, 2026 and ending December 31, 2026, with one additional one-year option to renew, and
WHEREAS, The Commissioner has indicated that the cost for custodial and janitorial services for the Judicial Center building will not exceed $156,926 and the custodial and janitorial services for the Family Court building will not exceed $193,144, and
WHEREAS, The Commissioner has indicated that the New York State Unified Court System will reimburse the County at certain percentages for said services during the term and any additional renewal options, now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature that the County Executive is authorized to enter into a renewal agreement with NYSID, Albany, NY 12203, as a preferred provider, regarding custodial and janitorial services at the Judicial Center and Family Court buildings in an amount not to exceed $350,070 for a term commencing January 1, 2026 and ending December 31, 2026, with one additional one-year option to renew, and, be it further
RESOLVED, That the County Attorney is authorized to approve said agreement as to form and content, and be it further
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the County Legislature is directed to forward certified copies of this resolution to the appropriate County Officials.
