DESCRIPTION OF REQUEST: (state briefly why legislative action is requested)

The bankruptcy of St. Rose and subsequent acquisition of the campus by the Albany County Pine Hills Land Authority has resulted in the need to repurpose a number of buildings. Three of those buildings have been identified as having value to the community through using them for County operations. 985 Madison Ave (St. Joseph’s Hall), 979 Madison (Moran Hall), and 1020 Madison (Women’s Leadership Institute) can be quickly and efficiently repurposed to house the County Legislature’s Offices, the Legislative Chambers and various County Executive Offices. These buildings would offer direct services to County and neighborhood residents through legislative engagement as well as offices which may include Tax and Finance, Real Property, and/or Purchasing.
