AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT WITH THE NYS GOVERNOR'S TRAFFIC SAFETY COMMITTEE REGARDING THE HIGHWAY SAFETY GRANT PROGRAM AND AMENDING THE 2022 DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS BUDGET

WHEREAS, Albany County has been notified by the NYS Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee that Albany County is being awarded $39,000 in funding through the Child Passenger Safety Grant and the Highway Safety Grant, and
WHEREAS, The Commissioner of the Department of Public Works has requested authorization to enter into an agreement with the NYS Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee regarding the 2022 Highway Safety Grant Program in the amount of $39,000 regarding the purchase of car seats and educational materials for a term commencing October 1, 2022 and ending September 30, 2023, and
WHEREAS, The Commissioner indicated that $35,000 of the award has been anticipated in the current 2022 Department of Public Works budget, but that a budget amendment is necessary to accept the remaining $4,000 for the remainder of 2022, now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature that the County Executive is authorized to enter into an agreement with the NYS Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee regarding the acceptance of the 2022 Highway Safety Grant Program funding in the amount of $39,000 for the purchase of car seats and educational materials for a term commencing October 1, 2022 and ending September 30, 2023, and, be it further
RESOLVED, That the 2022 Department of Public Works Budget is hereby amended as follows:
Increase Revenue Account D3327 Governor’s Traffic Safety by $4,000
Increase Appropriation Account D5020.4 by $4,000 by increasing Line Item D5020 4 4049 Special Programs by $4,000
and, be it further
RESOLVED, That the County Attorney is authorized to approved said agreement as to form and content, and, be it further
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the County Legislature is directed to forward certified copies of this resolution to the appropriate County Officials.
