AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT WITH CABOT COACH BUILDERS, INC. REGARDING THE PURCHASE OF TWO MODIFIED ELECTRIC TRANSIT VANS FOR OPIOID OUTREACH SERVICES AND AMENDING THE 2024 ALBANY COUNTY BUDGET

By Public Works Committee:

 

WHEREAS, The Director of the Department of Mental Health has requested authorization to enter into an agreement with Cabot Coach Builders, Inc. regarding the purchase of two modified electric Ford Transit vans in an amount not to exceed $358,000 for a term commencing November 1, 2024 and ending October 31, 2025, and

 

WHEREAS, The Director has indicated that these vans will allow for the expansion of the Mobile Outreach Treatment and Overdose Response (MOTOR) Program in Albany County, and

 

WHEREAS, The Department of Mental Health, through the Purchasing Agent, issued a request for bids regarding two modified electric transit vans for the MOTOR Program and nine separate bids from eight bidders were received, and

 

WHEREAS, After a review of said bids, the Department has recommended Cabot Coach Builders, Inc. as the lowest responsible bidder, and

 

WHEREAS, The Director has also requested authorization to amend the 2024 Department of Mental Health Budget in order to effectuate the purchase, therefore, be it

 

RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature that the County Executive is authorized to enter into an agreement with Cabot Coach Builders, Inc., Haverhill, MA 01832 regarding the purchase of two modified electric Ford Transit vans in an amount not to exceed $358,000 for a term commencing November 1, 2024 and ending October 31, 2025, and, be it further

 

RESOLVED, That the 2024 Department of Mental Health Budget is amended as follows:

 

and, be it further

 

RESOLVED, That the County Attorney is authorized to approve said agreement as to form and content, and, be it further

 

RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the County Legislature is directed to forward certified copies of this resolution to the appropriate County Officials.
