DESCRIPTION OF REQUEST: (state briefly why legislative action is requested)
The Public Works Department is requesting Legislative approval for the Albany County Department of Public Works to seek Lead Agency on the New Karner Road (County Route 157) Corridor Improvements Project between Western Avenue (US Route 20) and Watervliet Shaker Road. A full Environmental Assessment Form has been completed and letters notifying the County’s interest in acquiring lead agency status were sent to involved agencies on November 20, 2023 (backup material is attached). We received no objections during the 30-day review period. All forms and reviews consistent with a Type 1 action under SEQR have been completed and are included in the backup material. It has been recommended that the project is a Type 1 project and will have no adverse impact on the environment pursuant to the State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQRA).
