AUTHORIZING AGREEMENTS WITH THE CITY OF ALBANY AND THE COLLEGE OF SAINT ROSE FOR THE PURCHASE AND INSTALLATION OF A NEW TURF SPORTS FIELD AT HOFFMAN PARK IN THE CITY OF ALBANY

WHEREAS, The Albany County Executive has requested authorization to enter into agreements with the City of Albany and the College of Saint Rose for the purchase and installation of a new turf sports field at Hoffman Park in the City of Albany in the amount of $250,000 for a term commencing May 15, 2023 and ending July 15, 2023, and
WHEREAS, Section 119-o of the General Municipal Law permits municipal corporations to enter into agreements for the performance amongst themselves or one for the other of their respective functions, powers and duties on a cooperative or contract basis or for the provision of a joint service, and
WHEREAS, The County Executive has indicated that a County contribution in the amount of $250,000, along with an equal contribution from the City of Albany, will enable the College to replace the artificial turf at Hoffman Park which is crucial to continue to provide a venue for the College’s athletic programs, the City’s and County’s summer recreational leagues, charity games, and summer sports camps, now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature that the County Executive is authorized to enter into agreements with the City of Albany and the College of Saint Rose for the purchase and installation of a new turf sports field at Hoffman Park in the City of Albany in the amount of $250,000 for a term commencing May 15, 2023 and ending July 15, 2023, and, be it further
RESOLVED, That the County Attorney is authorized to approve said agreements as to form and content, and, be it further
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the County Legislature is directed to forward certified copies of this resolution to the appropriate Albany County, City of Albany, and College of Saint Rose officials.
