Justification: (state briefly why legislative action is requested)
The request to accept the FY2020 SHSP/SLETPP grant in the amount of $536,242 is made on behalf of the Department of Health, Division of Information Service, and the Albany County Sheriff. The first contract will be with the Department of Health and the Division of Information Services for FY2020 SHSP in the amount of $506,242. Albany County DIS will receive $184,679.00 of the total, to be used for the enhancement of cyber security. The DOH will receive $321,563 of the total, to be used towards the coordination and sustainment of citizen preparedness, public health planning, COOP and training / exercise programs. The second contract will be with the Albany County Sheriff’s Office for FY2020 SLETPP in the amount of $30,000.00. The Sheriff’s Office’s share will be used for operational overtime costs and target hardening at election sites.
