DESCRIPTION OF REQUEST: (state briefly why legislative action is requested)
The Division of Information Services is requesting legislative authorization to accept US Department Homeland Security (DHS) funding for the FY2023 Cybersecurity Grant in the amount of $50,000. The grant is being administered by the NYS Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services (DHSES). The performance period of this award is 4/1/26 - 8/31/27. Additionally, we are requesting a budget amendment to the 2026 Albany County Budget to allocate these funds. This grant will cover the costs for firewalls for the Albany County Water Purification District. This will help protect the network while their SCADA migration and network rebuild is underway.
