AMENDING THE 2024 ALBANY COUNTY BUDGET: JUVENILE JUSTICE PROGRAM

By Willingham:
WHEREAS, Albany County seeks to provide for the support and development of the youth population through its programming due to the impact of the COVID-19 on County youth, and
WHEREAS, The enhancement of County youth programming will help alleviate some of the chronic challenges faced by young people caught up in the criminal justice system as well as their families, and
WHEREAS, The economic hardships of youthful offenders in Albany County can be mitigated with the provision of pre-workforce job skills development and training as well as access to appropriate or related support services, and
WHEREAS, The Albany County Legislature, in partnership with the Albany County Sheriff and the Department for Children, Youth, and Families, intends to provide for programmatic enhancement of services to youth involved in the juvenile justice system in Albany County, now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature that the 2024 Albany County
Budget is hereby amended as follows:
Decrease Appropriation Account A3150.4 by $100,000 by decreasing the following line items:
Decrease Line Item A3150 4 4104 Natural Gas by $76,667
Decrease Line Item A3150 4 4105 Water by $23,333
Increase Appropriation Account A6119.4 by $100,000 by increasing Line Item
A6119 4 4406 Division for Youth by $100,000
and, be it further
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the County Legislature is directed to forward
certified copies of this resolution to the appropriate County Officials.
