AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT WITH THE NEW YORK STATE OFFICE OF MENTAL HEALTH REGARDING ACCORD FUNDING AND AMENDING THE 2022 DEPARTMENT OF MENTAL HEALTH BUDGET

WHEREAS, The Director of the Department of Mental Health has requested authorization to enter into an agreement with the New York State Office of Mental Health regarding Albany County Crisis Officials Responding and Diverting (ACCORD) program funding in an amount of $350,000 for the term commencing June 1, 2022 and ending December 31, 2022, and

WHEREAS, The ACCORD program is a pilot collaboration between the Albany County Department of Mental Health, the Albany County Legislature and the Albany County Sheriff's Office designed to provide alternative crisis response services to residents of the Hilltowns in Albany County experiencing behavioral health crises without the presence of law enforcement whenever possible, and

WHEREAS, The Director has indicated that the funding will supplement the salaries of two Department of Mental Health Staff Social Workers, one Supervising Social Worker, and supporting office expenses for a six month period, and

WHEREAS, The Director has requested a budget amendment to incorporate said funding, now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature that the County Executive is authorized to enter into an agreement with the New York State Office of Mental Health regarding Albany County Crisis Officials Responding and Diverting (ACCORD) program funding in an amount of $350,000 for the term commencing June 1, 2022 and ending December 31, 2022, and, be it further

RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature that the 2022 Department of Mental Health Budget is hereby amended as follows:

Increase Revenue Account A3490 Mental Health by $157,627

Increase Appropriation Account A4310.1 by $101,226 by increasing the following line items:
