AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT WITH TOGETHER FOR YOUTH REGARDING THE PROVISION OF THE FUNCTIONAL FAMILY THERAPY PROGRAM

WHEREAS, The Commissioner of the Department for Children, Youth and Families (DCYF) has requested authorization to enter into an agreement with Together for Youth regarding the provision of the Functional Family Therapy Program (FFT) in an amount not to exceed $320,073 for a term commencing January 1, 2025 and ending December 31, 2025, with two additional one-year options to renew, and
WHEREAS, DCYF, in collaboration with the Department of Probation and the County Purchasing Agent, issued a request for proposals for Prevention Services and after a scoring process, Together for Youth was awarded the contract, and
WHEREAS, The Commissioner has indicated that the FFT Program is an evidenced-based practice as an alternative to detention for youth displaying a range of problematic behaviors from excessive school absences, acting out, and incorrigibility, to more serious behaviors such as conduct disorder, violent acting out, and substance abuse, with the goal of preventing the need for placement or re-placement in foster care, now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature that the County Executive is authorized to enter into an agreement with Together for Youth, Albany, NY 12205 regarding the provision of the FFT Program in an amount not to exceed $320,073 for a term commencing January 1, 2025 and ending December 31, 2025, with two additional one-year options to renew, and, be it further
RESOLVED, That the County Attorney is authorized to approve said agreement as to form and content, and, be it further
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the County Legislature is directed to forward certified copies of this resolution to the appropriate County Officials.
