AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT WITH THE NEW YORK STATE OFFICE FOR THE AGING REGARDING THE GO-GO GRANDPARENT INITIATIVE AND AMENDING THE 2025 DEPARTMENT FOR AGING BUDGET

WHEREAS, The Commissioner of the Department for Aging has requested authorization to enter into an agreement with the New York State Office for the Aging regarding the Go-Go Grandparent Initiative in the amount of $75,000 for a term commencing January 1, 2025 and ending December 31, 2025, and
WHEREAS, The Commissioner has indicated that the Go-Go Grandparent Initiative will complement existing Department transportation services by offering on demand non-medical transportation for Albany County seniors, and
WHEREAS, The Commissioner has also requested an amendment to the 2025 Department for Aging Budget, now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature that the County Executive is authorized to enter into an agreement with the New York State Office for the Aging regarding the Go-Go Grandparent Initiative in the amount of $75,000 for a term commencing January 1, 2025 and ending December 31, 2025, and, be it further
RESOLVED, That the 2025 Department for Aging Budget is amended as follows:
and, be it further
RESOLVED, That the County Attorney is authorized to approve said agreement as to form and content, and, be it further
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the County Legislature is directed to forward certified copies of this resolution to the appropriate County Officials.
