AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT WITH THE NEW YORK STATE OFFICE FOR THE AGING REGARDING THE MEDICARE IMPROVEMENT FOR PATIENTS AND PROVIDERS ACT GRANT

WHEREAS, The Commissioner of the Albany County Department for Aging has requested authorization to enter into an agreement with the New York State Office for the Aging to accept Medicare Improvement for Patients and Providers Act (MIPPA) grant funding in the amount of $19,092 for the term commencing September 30, 2019 and ending September 29, 2020, and
WHEREAS, The Commissioner indicated that this grant funding will be used to support health insurance information counseling and assistance programs for seniors within Albany County, now, therefore be it
RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature that the County Executive is authorized to enter into an agreement with the New York State Office for the Aging, Albany, NY 12223 to accept MIPPA grant funding in an amount not to exceed $19,092 for the term commencing September 30, 2019 and ending September 29, 2020, and, be it further
RESOLVED, That the County Attorney is authorized to approve said agreement as to form and content, and, be it further
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the County Legislature is directed to forward certified copies of this resolution to the appropriate County Officials.
