AUTHORIZING ACCEPTANCE OF A GRANT FROM THE ENVIRONMENTAL FACILITIES CORPORATION REGARDING THE TREATMENT PROCESSING IMPROVEMENT PROJECT AT THE WATER PURIFICATION DISTRICT'S NORTH AND SOUTH TREATMENT PLANTS

WHEREAS, The Executive Director of the Water Purification District has requested authorization to accept grant funding from the Environmental Facilities Corporation (EFC) regarding the Treatment Processing Improvement Project at the Water Purification District’s North and South plants for a term commencing March 15, 2026 and ending March 14, 2031, and
WHEREAS, The Executive Director has indicated that the Treatment Processing Improvement Project’s estimated cost is $113,640,000 which was previously authorized under the 2025-2029 Albany County Capital Program, and
WHEREAS, The Executive Director has indicated that EFC grant funding will be used to offset the total project cost, now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature that the County Executive is authorized to enter into an agreement with EFC regarding the Treatment Processing Improvement Project at the Water Purification District’s North and South plants for a term commencing March 15, 2026 and ending March 14, 2031, and, be it further
RESOLVED, That the County Attorney is authorized to approve said agreement as to form and content, and, be it further
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the County Legislature is directed to forward certified copies of this resolution to the appropriate County Officials.
