AUTHORIZING ACCEPTANCE OF A BIPARTISAN INFRASTRUCTURE LAW GRANT AND APPROVAL TO ACCESS ZERO PERCENT INTEREST LOANS FROM THE ENVIRONMENTAL FACILITIES CORPORATION REGARDING THE WATER PURIFICATION DISTRICT’S SLUDGE PROCESSING IMPROVEMENT PROJECT

                     By Public Works Committee:

                     

                     WHEREAS, The Executive Director of the Water Purification District has requested authorization to accept a $25,000,000 grant from the Environmental Facilities Corporation to offset costs associated with the District’s Sludge Processing Improvement Project, and

 

                     WHEREAS, The Executive Director has also requested authorization to access up to $25,000,000 in additional interest-free financing from the Environmental Facilities Corporation regarding the District’s Sludge Processing Improvement Project, and

 

WHEREAS, The grant and loan will be used to cover the estimate $65,000,000 cost of the Districts Sludge Processing Improvement Project as approved in the 2025-2029 Albany County Capital Program, now, therefore, be it

                     

                     RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature that the County Executive is authorized to accept a $25,000,000 grant and to access up $25,000,000 in interest-free financing from the Environmental Facilities Corporation regarding the Water Purification District’s Sludge Processing Improvement Project, and, be it further

 

                     RESOLVED, That the County Attorney is authorized to approve said grant and loan agreements as to form and content, and, be it further

 

                     RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the County Legislature is directed to forward certified copies of this resolution to the appropriate County Officials.
