AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT WITH THE NEW YORK STATE DIVISION OF CRIMINAL JUSTICE SERVICES REGARDING THE GUN INVOLVED VIOLENCE ELIMINATION GRANT

                                          WHEREAS, The Albany County Sheriff has requested authorization to enter into an agreement with the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services regarding the Gun Involved Violence Elimination (GIVE) grant in the amount of $253,100 for the term commencing July 1, 2023 and ending June 30, 2024, and

 

                                          WHEREAS, The Sheriff has indicated that the GIVE grant is a partnership between the Sheriff’s Office, New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services, the Albany County District Attorney’s Office, and the City of Albany Police Department and that funding will assist with the costs involved in having a part-time individual assigned to the Albany-based Capital Region Crime Analysis Center, as well as individuals assigned to the Sheriff’s Albany Detail as it relates to the GIVE grant, now, therefore, be it

 

                                          RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature, that the County Executive is authorized to enter into an agreement with NYS Division of Criminal Justice Services for a term commencing July 1, 2023 and ending June 30, 2024 in an amount not to exceed $253,100 regarding the GIVE grant for the Sheriff’s Office regarding grant assignment expenses, and, be it further

 

                                          RESOLVED, That the County Attorney is authorized to approve said agreement as to form and content, and, be it further

 

                                          RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the County Legislature is directed to forward certified copies of this resolution to the appropriate County Officials.
