AUTHORIZING AN INTERDEPARTMENTAL AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE DEPARTMENT FOR CHILDREN, YOUTH AND FAMILIES AND THE ALBANY COUNTY PROBATION DEPARTMENT

                     By Social Services Committee:

 

                     WHEREAS, The Commissioner of the Albany County Department for Children, Youth and Families has requested authorization to renew an agreement with the Albany County Probation Department regarding prevention, supervision and treatment services for juveniles for the term commencing January 1, 2022 and ending December 31, 2022 in an amount not to exceed $1,116,459, and

 

WHEREAS, The funding will be used to offset the salary and fringe benefit costs for Probation Department employees as well as services for programs in the Juvenile Community Accountability Board, PINS 18, the Parent Project, Juvenile Release Under Supervision and Raise the Age programs all of which are designed to reduce the likelihood of the youth’s further penetration into the Juvenile Justice system, now, therefore be it

 

RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature that the County Executive is authorized to execute an interdepartmental agreement between the Department for

Children, Youth and Families and the Probation Department regarding prevention, supervision and treatment services for juveniles for the term commencing January 1, 2022 and ending December 31, 2022 in an amount not to exceed $1,116,459, and, be it further

 

RESOLVED, That the County Attorney is authorized to approve said agreement as to form and content, and, be it further

 

RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the County Legislature is directed to forward

certified copies of this resolution to the appropriate County Officials.
