AUTHORIZATION TO RENAME THE CLERK I POSITION TO CLERK TYPIST I AND AMENDING THE 2026 DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS BUDGET

By Public Works Committee:
WHEREAS, The Commissioner of the Department of Public Works has requested authorization to rename the Clerk I position to Clerk Typist I to align the title with the applicable collective bargaining agreement, and
WHEREAS, The Commissioner has indicated that clerk I position is not a specified job title in the collective bargaining agreement, and
WHEREAS, The Commissioner has also requested a budget amendment to accurately maintain proper title classification, and
WHEREAS, renaming the positions ensures consistency with the collective bargaining agreement, maintains proper classification and supports accurate personnel and payroll records, now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature that the Clerk I position is hereby renamed to Clerk Typist I, and be it further
RESOLVED, That the 2026 Department of Public Works budget is hereby amended as follows:
and, be it further
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the County Legislature is directed to forward certified copies of this resolution to the appropriate County Officials.
