AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT WITH THE NEW YORK STATE BOARD OF ELECTIONS REGARDING THE 2026 MAIL BALLOT GRANT

WHEREAS, The Commissioners of the Board of Elections have requested authorization to enter into an agreement with the New York State Board of Elections regarding the 2026 Mail Ballot Grant in the amount of $81,325 for the term commencing April 1, 2026 and ending March 31, 2027, and
WHEREAS, The Commissioners have indicated that this grant provides reimbursement for expenses related to pre-paid postage for early mail ballots, absentee ballots, applications, and return envelopes, now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature that the County Executive is authorized to enter into an agreement with the New York State Board of Elections regarding the 2026 Mail Ballot Grant in the amount of $81,325 for the term commencing April 1, 2026 and ending March 31, 2027, and, be it further
RESOLVED, That the County Attorney is authorized to approve said agreement as to form and content, and, be it further
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the County Legislature is directed to forward certified copies of this resolution to the appropriate County Officials.
