AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT WITH THE NEW YORK STATE DIVISION OF HOMELAND SECURITY AND EMERGENCY SERVICES REGARDING THE 2020 STATE HOMELAND SECURITY PROGRAM AND AMENDING THE 2020 ALBANY COUNTY BUDGET

By Audit and Finance Committee:

WHEREAS, The Albany County Executive's Office on behalf of the Department of Health and the Division of Information Services has requested authorization to enter into an agreement with the New York State Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services in order to accept FY 2020 State Homeland Security Program funding in the amount of $506,242 for the term commencing September 1, 2020 and ending August 31, 2023, and

WHEREAS, The County Executive has indicated that, upon acceptance of the monies from New York State, the Albany County Department of Health will receive $321,563 in order to support the continued coordination of emergency preparedness programs in the County, and

WHEREAS, The County Executive has further indicated that the Albany County Division of Information Services will receive $184,679 which will be utilized for enhancements to County cyber security and County-owned critical infrastructure including video surveillance, detection equipment, and data security, and

WHEREAS, The Division of Information Services requires an amendment to its 2020 budget in order to incorporate and utilize the aforementioned funds, now, therefore be it

RESOLVED, By the Albany County Legislature that the County Executive is authorized to enter into an agreement with the New York State Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services regarding 2020 State Homeland Security Program funding in the amount of $506,242 for the term commencing September 1, 2020 and ending August 31, 2023, and, be it further

RESOLVED, That the 2020 Division of Information Services Budget is amended as follows:

Increase Revenue Account A3306 Homeland Security by $184,679
